The Bluefaced Leicester sheep breed has been developed over the last century in Tyne & Wear and Cumbria, to create high quality ewes. They are still predominantly found in the North East of England, and in small specialist flocks across the UK.
This wool is highly popular, you’ll see it used in knitwear and for hand knitting yarns.
The Bluefaced Leicester breed has a distinctive face shape, and long legs.
