HERITAGE

The Derbyshire Gritstone sheep breed is one of the oldest hill breeds in Britain, established in the 1770's.

They are now found throughout the Pennines and Peak District.

SHEEP

The Derbyshire Gritstone sheep breed is a large hornless breed. They are a hardy breed, and have make good mothers. They have black markings on their face and legs. 

FLEECE

The Derbyshire Gritstone sheep breed have a fine fleece for a hill breed. They are often used in carpets, but the finer fleeces are often used in blends for knitwear.
