HERITAGE

The Exmoor Horn sheep breed was developed in the 1800's to survive the harsh Moorland weather.

They are now predominantly found throughout the South West of England.

SHEEP

The Exmoor Horn sheep breed have curled cream horns. They often get crossed with other breeds, and their face and legs are covered in short white hair.

FLEECE

They have a versatile fleece, with medium length wool.

Their fleeces are now mainly used in carpet blends, however traditionally that have been used in the West Country for specialty cloths.

UNDER A MICROSCOPE

This is a sample of a woollen spun Exmoor Horn yarn, under a microscope.
