HERITAGE

The Torddu Badgerface sheep breed are one of the oldest British sheep breeds. They can be traced back to the 1st Century in Wales.

They are still kept in Wales and around the UK.

SHEEP

'Torddu' means 'black belly' in Welsh. The Torddu Welsh Mountain breed has a stripe of black fleece running from chin to tail. The rams have horns.

FLEECE

Their fleece has a medium to harsh handle, and is predominantly cream, with a black stripe, which when blended together creates a light grey.

Their fleece is popular with hand spinners and used in carpets.
