HERITAGE

The Castlemilk Moorit sheep breed was developed in the 1900's in Dumfriesshire. 

They are still kept in specialist flocks, predominantly in South West Scotland, but also in small pockets across the UK.

SHEEP

The Castlemilk Moorit breed have long legs and a stumped tail. 

Ewes have slightly curly horns, whereas the rams have spiral horns.

FLEECE

The Castlemilk Moorit breed have a silky brown fleece which is popular with crafts people and hand spinners.

The Castlemilk Moorit breed was developed by crossing Shetland Moorit ewes with a Manx Loaghtan and Mouflon rams.

A hand-crafted book containing breed-specific information about the British sheep breed you choose.
