HERITAGE

The Leicester Longwool breed was developed in Bakewell in the 18th Century. 

They are now classed as a rare breed, but found mostly in the East Midlands.

SHEEP

The Leicester Longwool sheep breed are a large, hornless breed. They have a long forelock, and fleece that grows very curly.

FLEECE

They have a heavy, long fleece which is curly.

The fleece is now most commonly used by hand spinners.
